SIMEM PRESS RELEASE

SIMEM & JANAKSONS take a giant leap with KG Denim Contract For a Zero Discharge Waste Water Treatment Plant.

The commitment of both SIMEM & JANAKSONS OVERSEAS to ecology is too well known to be reiterated. The company has been marching ahead with its ever - expanding customer base and just concluded yet another prestigious contract for a Zero Liquid Discharge Plant from SIMEM - Italy with the denim king of South India - KG Denim Group (Sri Kannapiran Mills) for their upcoming denim plant in SIPCOT Perundurai, Tamil Nadu

This contract has been the result of exhaustive evaluation study/plant visits by their highly technical team of different technologies (including the disc membranes') available for re-use of water. KG Group being the industry major and one of the oldest in the Indian textile industry adds great prestige and value to the marketing efforts of JANAKSONS OVERSEAS who are now hopeful of many more successes in the near future not only of individual ETPs but also of the Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) coming up in Tamil Nadu due to the grave scenario of waste water treatment and discharge especially in and around Tirupur, Erode, Chennai areas.

The other recent big references in India for SIMEM+JANAKSONS include:Biological Treatment Plants for Discharge Abhishek Industries (Trident) Ludhiana (Punjab) - for 10,000 m³/day already commissioned in December 2004 and running successfully since. Welspun, Mumbai/Anjar - for 5,000+5,000 m³/day already commissioned in April 2005 and running successfully since.

Terry Plus India, Neemrana, Rajasthan - for 1,250 m³/day under construction Recovery of Water / Zero Discharge Plants Alok Industries Ltd., Mumbai - for 10,000 m³/day includes biological treatment plant and re-use of water through reverse osmosis - under
construction.

Inditex Processors (Frontier Knitters), SIPCOT Perundurai - a Zero Liquid Discharge Plant for 1,000 m³/day - under installation The Plants by SIMEM have a number of USPs (unique selling propositions) like its being a complete biological treatment plant producing reduced quantity of non toxic sludge which can also be used as manure.  It is fully automatic and stainless steel plant with very low running costs

E.g. For the biological treatment plant is around Rs. 4-5/m³, for filteration and recovery of water upto 82% through a 2 stage RO, it is around Rs.15 - 17 m³.

The biological plant ensures that the organic matter, turbidity and colloidal substances of small dimensions are reduced thereby sending much cleaner water going into R.O. and reduces the R.O.'s running cost and increases the life of membranes. Otherwise, these substances get deposited on the micro holes of the membranes and result in their fast choking.
